An EA is much more than a glorified secretary or administrative assistant. They are a key player in helping you organize your life so you can focus on the right things

If you don’t have EA yet, I’m going to share with you the step-by-step process for hiring a rockstar.

If you already have one, skip to the next section on how to properly train your EA.

Step 1: Define the Scope

You want to look for an EA who can immediately take tasks off your plate, so you’re not doing work that drains you.

Look at your Energy Audit and extract a list of low-value and energy-draining tasks to delegate.

If your list is heavy with admin tasks, you want to look for an EA with strong admin skills who is highly process-oriented.

If it’s mostly marketing operations tasks, look for an EA with marketing ops experience.

Step 2: Create the Role Scorecard & Job Description

Once you’re clear on the scope, create a Role Scorecard for your EA.
